25 Years of F & M Plumbers & Drainers
MEMBER MILESTONE
Article from "The Australian Master Plumber" (December 2008 issue)
Peter Frederiksen and Brian May founded F & M Plumbers and Drainers in 1982, starting out as owner/operators working long, hard hours. Over the years the business expanded to what it is today, employing up to 25 staff when at their busiest. The company specialises in emergency maintenance plumbing 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and guarantees to respond to all calls within 15 minutes.
Major projects have included Seaforth Resort Alexandra Headlands, Sabaya Resort Port Douglas, International Resort Mooloolaba, many apartment blocks on Kawana Island and various commercial projects on the Sunshine Coast.
The company is one of the few on the Sunshine Coast licensed to test thermostatic mixing valves and backflow devices, with staff having completed their training with the Master Plumbers Association of Queensland.
The company became a member of MPMSAA in 1983, and Peter and Brian say membership has assisted them over the years with such things as payroll enquiries, and issues that have needed to be resolved on EBA sites where unions are concerned.
The goal of the company is to expand the maintenance division, and to continue to provide quality service and workmanship at all times, ensuring that their customers not only return, but recommend them to family and friends as well. They are also hoping to expand their service division, with more service agreements up and running on the Sunshine Coast.
Although still working hard in the business, Peter and Brian now have systems in place which enable them to have the business run and managed by their team members. This gives them more time to spend with family and friends, enjoying the things they really like doing.
